House trips serve as an easy way to see more of the city while having some fun down-time with the people you live with. Starting in June, Millennium Park puts on a weekly concert series where Chicago-area bands, as well as bigger names like Iron & Wine, play free shows in the state-of-the-art amphitheatre. Pack a picnic dinner, hop on the Metra, and lay out beneath the city lights while soaking up some great music with your friends.

If you’re anywhere near Chicago, you have to go to this. Opening Feb 10th in Millenium Park, Chicago collaborative Luftwerk are creating a ‘luminous field’ with light, sound, and video to illuminate Cloud Gate.
