Lollapalooza 2012

This year’s Lola’s line-up was spectacular. The Black Keys, Wale, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Shins, Passion Pit and Avicii all tore up Chicago. Our city continues to take names and slay foes when it comes to music. First, there was Pitchfork, then Lolla, soon North Coast and come fall, the Hyde Park Jazz Festival. This city is craaaazy!

Many UChicagoans are currently asleep. They spent the weekend at Lollapalooza, a three-day music festival on the lakefront at Grant Park, where they soaked up enough music and sun to last them a lifetime (or at least, until next year). Did you go?

Lolla.
Lollapalooza is coming to town next weekend. EMINEM! Anyone going?
“Lollapalaooza has come a long way, but one thing stays constant: the festival is for the fans. With that in mind, Lollapalooza now calls the legendary city of Chicago home, having put down roots in the gorgeous greenspaces of Grant Park in 2005…Fans can find a place to park their bicycle, hit the farmers market, grab some gourmet grub, peruse handmade arts and crafts, get rewarded for recycling and - of course - rock out to some of the best music in the world. And it’s only gonna get better from here. These last twenty years have been a hell of a ride, so here’s to twenty more.”
