Join fellow alumni, students, faculty, and friends on Harper Quad for a screening under the stars of the movie Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Dress up as your favorite movie character.

Welcome to the University of Chicago. We love prospective students, and we’d like to let them know that there will be a UChicago Quidditch game on the Midway tonight at 7pm. They can also watch Ferris Bueller’s Day Off at 9pm. But really…Quidditch.
Wizard rock group Harry and the Potters will be at the Cloister Club at UChicago this weekend (April 8th) as part of their Midwest tour. Check them out here!
“If you make it down to the University of Chicago and you’re looking for a bite to eat or a cappuccino – head to the basement of Swift Hall – to the Divinity School Coffee Shop. They serve awesome box lunches from local ethnic restaurants and brew up great espresso drinks. Plus, you’ll get to take in the sites of one of the beautiful limestone buildings that comprise the majority of the original quad. I snapped this photograph of the outside of Swift in late October while almost all the leaves had dropped from the trees lining the entrance. The branches of this tree remind me of the whomping willow from Harry Potter.”

We know, with the last movie of the series coming up, there’s been a Harry Potter mania sweeping the country even more than usual. Whether you’re sick to death of it or can’t get enough, take a look at these stunning schools that will definitely satisfy those castle-cravings.
1. University of Chicago Modeled after Oxford and consistently ranked one of the top ten schools in the country, UChicago is nothing but gorgeous Gothic architecture and incredible views. In addition, UChicago boasts a proud house system—36 Houses named after their original founders, such as Hitchcock, Chamberlin, Alper, etc. Much like the books, your House is who you eat, live, and play IM sports with. As if extra convincing was needed, UChicago’s mascot is a Phoenix. Coincidence? We think not.
