A Step Ahead of History
A decade or so before the Civil Rights Movement really took off, Janice Porter (center) was voted Miss University of Chicago. She wasn’t just a beauty— she was also Student Government President and went on to teach at both Temple and Howard universities before establishing her own clinical psychology practice.
