Yes and yes! We are a liberal arts college that is happily situated within a research university, so those interested in the sciences have very strong research and course opportunities in biology, chemistry, physics, and related fields. Pre-med students are welcome to choose whatever major they choose; biological sciences and chemistry most closely coincide with the requirements for medical school, but we have many students who graduate with degrees in English, visual arts, art history, political science, etc. alongside completing their pre-med requirements and go on to a successful career in medicine.
