Firmly, no. Your Tumblr (and Facebook, and Twitter, etc) are your personal venues for expression— while it is wise for any applicant to any college to keep things savory on social media sites where they may be able to be identified by name (as it is becoming increasingly common for other schools or potential employers to check public profiles during any application process), content on a student’s Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook page, etc. is not something UChicago reviews during the admissions process. We do not have the time or resources to look students up or try to match up our applicants with their Tumblrs/Twitter handles (it would take forever!)— and, first and foremost, want Tumblr, Facebook, etc to be ways that students can feel comfortable interacting with us by asking questions and learning more about UChicago. We want interacting with us on social media sites to be a fun experience that will help you learn more about us, not something that you need to worry we will use as a factor in our decision-making in the admissions process.
